Shorne Pupils Pedal to Victory at First Trust Bike Festival

Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils from Shorne recently took part in an exciting and action-packed event, the very first Trust Bike Festival, designed especially for our youngest cyclists.

Held in partnership with the brilliant team at Born to Ride, the festival brought together six Trust schools for a day of fun-filled cycling challenges. Events included individual sprints, the longest glide, team relays, and the thrilling pursuit, all introduced by older, more experienced pupils who gave inspiring demonstrations before the races began.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Shorne finished in 1st place overall, thanks to the determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm of every child who took part. Their effort and energy throughout the day were outstanding!

The Bike Festival was more than just a competition, it was a celebration of confidence, resilience, and active learning. A huge well done to all of our Reception and KS1 pupils for representing Shorne so brilliantly.

Thank you to Born to Ride and all the schools involved for making the event such a success. We can’t wait to do it again!
