Unfortunately, a number of incidents have been reported to me in recent weeks of children making racist, unkind, sexist, negative remarks to each other as well as using bad language which has occurred across a number of classes. This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated at Shorne Primary School. Any reported incident is investigated to ascertain the facts and truth.
Obviously, we as adults understand that, at times, some children say things and are not aware of the meaning. However, this is not always the case.
If you can support the school in talking to your child about how everyone is different and how we celebrate our differences and are open to our diversity, we allow our preconceived notions to be proven wrong. This breaks down stereotypes and helps us to see people for who they are and not who we think they should be.
As stated in a Parentpay message sent in September we are reviewing elements of our current Curriculum to ensure that we are a culturally inclusive school. To ensure this happens an understanding of cultural, linguistic and religious diversity is required from all.
One of the core values at Shorne Primary School is respect for all, including all relationships, for pupils, staff, parents, and governors.Back to news
