The school is very lucky to share a boundary with Warren Farm, who host us for regular Outdoor Learning sessions for all ages. It is a lovely spot with views over the Thames, woodland to explore as well as llamas, sheep, goats and pigs to get to know and learn about.
Lesson times spent in this amazing resource are planned by teachers to fit in with specific curriculum units, such as seasons, plants, animals and habitats. Sessions which take place can also be more general – such as team building, perseverance in the face of challenge, art, poetry, story writing.
The school understands that the access to outdoor learning is valuable for all stages of a child’s primary career. It is our commitment that children will visit the farm regularly throughout the year – and in all weathers – as part of an exciting and engaging curriculum. Parents are asked to contribute £1 per student per session, which will be arranged termly via class teachers.
