Welcome to Year 6 ‘Tiger Class’
Our teacher is Mrs Taylor and our Teaching assistant is Mrs Hooper.
Our topic last term was ‘A Child’s War’. As part of this topic on September 18th we visited Dover Museum. Thanks to Max Miller and Harry Thomas for writing the report below:
At the Museum we did a variety of activities, we made ration plates out of clay and took part in a theatre workshop based on Good Night Mr Tom. During our tour we explored the Museum in which we found models of Dover with old artefacts that were from the time of WWII. In the theatre workshop we acted out parts from Good Night Mr Tom. We also learned how to use the space on stage and how we can show our emotions with facial expressions. We used the environment as if they were objects in the scene.
After we had all had finished our lunches we went into a room to create our ration plates. We read the step by step instructions to create the perfect ration plate. When we had all finished our plates we were very pleased with ourselves. We really enjoyed the trip to Dover and we thank Mrs Taylor a lot for organising the trip.
Our topic for this term (Term 2) is ‘Revolution’. For more information about this and important dates for this term please read our Term 2 Class Newsletter below. The class newsletter for Term 1 and the presentation shown at our welcome meeting for parents/carers can also be accessed below.
